Hyderabad City, March 3 (Andhra Jyoti): The principal secretary of the education department, Burra Venkatesam, has clarified that the reason behind the drug culture among students is the lack of parents, teachers and school management. "Once upon a time, children used to listen to what their parents and teachers said. There is no situation yet. Parents are listening just as the children are saying. Due to the lack of supervision over the children, they are being abused. He attended a program on 'Narcotics and Other Addictions De-Sensitisation and Reprocessing Prevention' held at the Integrated Command Control Center (ICCC) under the auspices of Hyderabad City Police Department and Hyderabad City Security Council (HCSC) on Sunday. Administrators, teachers and parents of about a thousand schools in Greater Hyderabad participated in this program. Speaking on this occasion, Burra Venkatesham criticized that the lack of supervision by parents and teachers is the reason why students fall victim to addictions. "Drugs and cannabis reaching the school level is worrying. Telangana is the state with the most youth power in the country. It is the responsibility of parents, teachers, police and all other departments to ensure that the youth is not misled. Everything should work together. He called that the drug epidemic should be eradicated. Henceforth, drug awareness committees should be formed in every school and students should be made aware of the side effects of drugs.
They said that children should be informed about good touch and bad touch. He warned that a circular will be issued soon and strict action will be taken against schools that do not follow the protocols. Director of Telangana Narcotics Bureau (T-NAB) Sandeep Sandilya said. It is advised that parents should allocate time for their children, and paying them money is not the only responsibility. Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Kothakota Srinivasareddy said that the drug epidemic has now spread to all areas, regardless of urban and rural areas. It is alarming that drugs are available in grocery stores, pan boxes and tiffin centers. Cyberabad CP Avinash Mohanty said that he advised the students to boldly report their friends who offer drugs to the police. Rachakonda CP Tarun Joshi said that only the parents and teachers have the opportunity to notice the changes in the behavior of the children who use drugs, and if they recognize the change in the early days and take action, they can keep them away from addiction. School Education Director Devasena and HCSC Advisor Bharani Arol participated in the program. Before that, the guests released a booklet on the side effects of drugs
