Sakshi, Hyderabad: The state government has decided in principle to provide Rs 5 lakh life insurance to the women of Self Help Groups (SHG) under the Indira Kranti Patham (IKP). Also, SHG will waive the loans of women in case of death. Loan dues of deceased SHG women are currently being collected from their family members. But henceforth those dues will be completely waived off
To promote SHG women in industrial and business sectors, a mini industrial park will be set up in each assembly constituency through IKP. SHG women will also be entrusted with the responsibility of sewing school uniforms and police uniforms. Through them, the government hopes to distribute free sanitary napkins to girls in government schools. Plans are being prepared to set up napkin manufacturing units with them
The related machinery was also examined. It is expected to take the mandal as a cluster and train the SHGs in that area in sewing uniforms and making sanitary napkins. The state cabinet meeting to be held at the Secretariat on 12th of this month at 12 noon under the chairmanship of CM Revanth Reddy will discuss these issues extensively and take a final decision. Later on the evening of the same day, the Chief Minister is likely to announce the decisions related to SHGs in a huge public meeting to be held at the parade ground with lakhs of women.
Setting up solar plants is a chance for women
It is known that the state government has already announced that the distribution of interest-free loans to SHG women has stopped since 2018, but it will be resumed soon. The government hopes that by encouraging SHG groups in the self-employment sector with interest-free loans, their financial and family status will improve. It is against this backdrop that it has decided to re-start distribution of interest-free loans and encourage them in every way. In this order, it has already been announced that women will be given the opportunity to set up solar power plants in electricity sub-stations
♦️The insurance premium will be paid by the government
The government hopes to implement a Rs 5 lakh life insurance scheme for SHG women on the lines of the Rythu Bima scheme. In this regard, an agreement will be signed with the insurance companies soon. The government will pay the insurance premium every year. Life insurance is applicable for all types of death. In case of death of the woman, the insurance company will deposit Rs.5 lakh in the nominee's account
Insurance for 61 lakh women
Only women in the age group of 18-60 years are eligible to be members of SHG groups so this scheme will be applicable to them. While there are 6.1 lakh SHG groups in the state, there are a total of 61 lakh members with 10 people in each group. According to government sources, 17.40 lakh people are members of 1.74 lakh groups in urban areas and 43.6 lakh members of 4.36 lakh groups in rural areas.
Rs. lakh crore loans in five years: Deputy CM Bhatti
Chintakani: Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that the Congress government is going to undertake another massive program in the state which was not promised earlier. He said that this program will be launched in the women's conference organized in Hyderabad on 12th of this month. Speaking to reporters in Proddutur of Khammam district, he revealed that interest-free loans of Rs.20 crore to Rs.25 crore will be provided in five years. Bhatti said that the poor of the state are tired of waiting for houses for more than a decade, but CM Revanth Reddy will launch the Indiramma houses scheme in Bhadrachalam on Monday with the aim that no one should be left without a house in Indiramma's kingdom.
