PAN Card: Alert ... PAN card is mandatory for these 18 transactions 


 1.  Buy or sell a motor vehicle, other than a two-wheeler. 


 2.  Opening an Account with a Co-operative Bank, Banking Company. 


 3.  Credit card or debit card application.


 4.  Demat Account Opening from Depository, Participant, Custodian of Securities or SEBI Accredited Institutions 


 5.  Simultaneous cash payments at a hotel or restaurant.


 6.  When paying Rs. 50,000 cash for overseas travel or purchasing anything in foreign currency. 


 7.  When buying mutual fund units worth more than Rs 50,000. 


 8.  When making payments to any company or institution to purchase debentures or bonds in excess of Rs. 50,000. 


 9.  When paying more than Rs. 50,000 for purchase of bonds issued by Reserve Bank of India-RBI


 * 10.  When depositing more than Rs. 50,000 in a day in any bank or depositing a total of Rs. 2,50,000 between November 9, 2016 and December 30, 2016. *


 11.  When making bank drafts, pay orders, bankers check payments of more than Rs. 50,000 per day. 


 12.  Bank, Co-operative Bank, Non-Banking Financial Company at Post Office, when making a one-time deposit of Rs. 50,000 or over Rs.


 13.  When cash, bank draft, pay order, bankers check payments exceeding Rs. 50,000 in a financial year.


 14.  When a total payment of more than Rs. 50,000 is made to a life insurance company in a financial year. 


  15.  When agreeing to buy or sell securities other than shares above Rs. 1,00,000. 


 16.  When agreeing to buy or sell shares of an unlisted company for more than Rs. 1,00,000 from a recognized stock exchange. 


 17.  Buying or selling real estate for more than Rs.10,00,000. 


 18.  When paying more than Rs. 2,00,000 for goods or services. 


 Non-resident PAN card is not required to be given at points 3, 5, 6, 9, 11, 13, 18 in the above list. 


 Minors who have no income can give their parents or guardians a PAN card. 


 Non-PAN card holders can file a declaration in Form No. 60 to avoid notice or inquiry by the Income Tax Department in case of any of the above transactions.
